Solvent weld this fitting onto the end of a length of 1-1/2" ABS pipe.  Then screw the pipe into our polyethylene gray tank and you'll have a water-tight connection.  Just turn about 1 or 2 turns past hand tighten for a tight fit. No need for thread tape or any adhesives on the threads.
