Byam Hooks were sold in the old Wally Byam Store. They were attached to cabinets inside the trailer. The extended hook keeps household items from falling off the hook while in transit.

They are sometimes known as "elephant hooks" because the exaggerated upturned hook resemples the trunk of an elephant while the screw holes look like eyes.

Our Byam Hooks are very similar to the originals in shape and size. Unlike the originals, ours are made of cast brass and chrome plated. They're stronger, but not quite as finely detailed as the originals.

Here's the description from the old Wally Byam Stores catalog:

"These uniquely designed hooks are commonly known in the trailer field as Byam Hooks simply because Wally had them all over his trailer inside and out. Install several in your bedroom so that you have a place to hang those clothes at night which you normally wouldn't put on a hanger. Utensils can be hung on them, stretch your clothes line -- there are literally dozens of uses for this sturdy aluminum Byam Hook. As simple as they are, they are difficult to find."

What a cool find. The odd shaped faded imprints around screw holes in my 1960 Airstream puzzled me until I ran across your Byam hooks. Then I realized the original owner had installed Wallys hooks throughout the coach. Your hooks match the imprint shape and screw spacing perfectly. Two 4 40 three eighths inch machine screws with nuts worked well to leave a smooth finish when replacing the hooks on the bulkheads.
