Not every vintage trailer needs an RV refrigerator. For many smaller trailers an old fashioned ice box is a great alternative. They require no propane and no electricity. Just install it in your cabinet and you are finished.
Ice boxes keep food cool by placing a block of ice in a specially designated ice tray inside the ice box. Block ice is available at gas stations all over the country. As the ice melts, the water runs out of the ice box with a 36" drain hose that is directed through the floor of your trailer.
This larger size ice box has 4 cubic feet of storage space and fits a cabinet cutout approximately 19-1/2" wide by 25-1/2" high. It is surface mounted on the face frame of your cabinet. It extends 16-1/4" into the cabinet, so it works in almost any cabinet. The mounting flange has an outside dimension of 21-7/16" x 27-7/16".
Choose from one of six different color front panel inserts. If you are handy, you can replace the insert with your own 1/8" thick insert. For example, in our own shop, we have replaced the factory insert with a birch plywood for one of our projects.
