These clear plastic clips are a great way to attach strings of patio lights to the edge of your awning.

They operate like little clothes pins with an eye on one part to run the wires through. You can run wires up to 3/8" diameter through the eyes.

They have a strong spring that will firmly grip the edge of your awning. And they're made of polycarbonate instead of a more brittle plastic, so they are resistant to breakage.
