Chasing down problematic running lights is often necessary with our vintage trailers. Before you tear apart your trailer lighting, start by making sure your tow vehicle is properly wired and that the connections are active. Sometimes just a fuse under the hood is the problem.
This connector tester works by plugging into the 7-way connector socket on your vehicle and responding to the various electrical signals produced by pushing the brake pedal, signaling a turn, turning on the running lights and so on. When the socket is getting proper power, the tester's various LEDs will light up corresponding to each wire in the connector. Testing your vehicle-side socket quickly isolates any problem.
This is a must-have for your on-the-road toolbox.
