Description

From 1964 to 1968 Airstream used attractive baggage compartment doors without hinges.  The doors were sleek and fit in a slot at the top of the door jamb and then was secured at the bottom with a simple cam lock or at the bottom and sides with a three-point cam lock.  While very handy to use, these doors tend to get lost while on the road.   The doors originally had no visible frame on the surface of the door and then in 1967 or 1968, an extruded frame was added to make assembly easier.  We have reproduced the extruded frame and corresponding bulb seal so that we can fabricate high quality replacement doors that are authentic to the period with no surface rivets.  Because compartment openings and latch requirements vary, we ask that you call us so we can discuss the details of your project and provide pricing.  Generally expect doors to cost between $150 and $300, depending on size and complexity.
