All Cyclo Polishers built in the last decade include the advanced Vibration Elimination System (VES). VES-equipped Cyclo Dual Head Orbital Polishers require specialized counterweights inserted behind the two tool attachments. Select the proper VES weighted inserts for the intended attachment system configuration and eliminate nearly all vibration.
If you have a VES-equipped Cyclo, it came with the proper weights for the attachments you received with the tool. If you received your tool with blue Proguard backing plates, you will have weights for those attachments. If you want to switch to brush heads, you will need new weights to balance the weight of the brushes. If your Cyclo came with hard black rubber heads, you will have weights for those heads.
Now that RUPES (the owner of Cyclo Toolmakers) has discontinued manufacturing its Model 5 Mark II Orbital Polisher, customers have asked if the counterweights that come with the Standard Model 5 Mark II Polisher are adequate for polishing trailers. The short answer is: Definitely Yes. They work with the blue Proguard orbital backing plates and compounding & polishing pads we carry. The heavier weights are used with brush attachments, or with black rubber pad holders that were standard on older Cyclo polishers. Those old rubber pad holders have been discontinued, so if you change to the new blue Proguard plates or use your Cyclo with brushes, you'll need new counterweights.
Here's a convenient reference if you are choosing which weights to use:
Application: For use with blue ProGuard orbital backing plates and most aftermarket backing plates
Weight: 6.5g with no notch (formerly blue)
Application: For use with scrub brushes
Weight: with 1 notch (formerly silver)
Application: For use with older Head or Rubber Pad Holder configured tools
Weight: 32g with 2 notches (formerly yellow)
