Airstream restorers love our faithful reproduction of the vent pipe cover for 1960s and early 1970s Airstreams and Argosys.

We've made it from thick black ABS automotive plastic like the original. The base sits at an angle to match the curvature of the roof in the location where the pipe protrudes from the trailer.

Like the original, it must be painted before installation to match your trailer and also to protect the ABS from sun degradation over the decades it will serve your trailer. We recommend a light sanding and then two or more coats of a satin spray paint from the hardware store like Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover.

To attach it to your trailer, you'll need 8 rivets, a small piece of window insect screen and some quality caulk-like sealant or butyl tape to form a seal.  The insect screen stretches across the pipe and is held in place by the vent cover's rim which rolls down and inside the pipe slightly.

It comes undrilled so you can drill it to match the existing rivet holes in your trailer roof.  You can do that by using a paper template on your roof's existing holes.

If you aren't sure whether this is right for your trailer, please check to make sure you have a 1-1/2" (ID) ABS or PVC pipe (slightly less than 2" OD) extending out the roof of your trailer.

Thousands of our reproductions are in service...many for decades now. Contact us if you need guidance.
