This door latch is used on many canned ham trailers starting in the 1940s and for many decades. It is often used in conjunction with our Locking L Handle.
Mounting holes may not be in the same location as your original. Please click on thumbnail photo of sketch for all dimensions. Choose from Right or Left hand models.
In the photos shown, the handle will pull down to retract the latchbolt. The latch will face the door jamb. Left hand model is depicted in the dimensional drawing.
The night trigger (or night lock) is a simple toggle that can be used when inside the trailer to prevent the latchbolt from retracting. It does so by prevening the inside handle from moving up and down. This feature is independent of the exterior locking handle you use. The lock on the exterior handle cannot override the night trigger.
Also found on Apache soft side popups from 1965 until 1976.
