Think of POR-15 TOP COAT as a much higher quality version of brushable hardware store paints, like Rust-Oleum. It works very well by itself as a direct-to-metal coating on any substrate susceptible to corrosion. Under exposure to sunlight and weather, it has exceptional long-term gloss and color retention.

It has excellent adhesion and can be applied directly to metal with no need for a primer or undercoat. It is formulated to form a robust barrier that sheds moisture to provide long lasting protection.

But where POR-15 TOP COAT really shines is when it is applied over the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating. The top coat works with the underlying rust preventive coating to create a permanent barrier against corrosion. It provides UV resistance to the rust preventive coating underneath and will not crack, chip or peel when properly applied. In addition, it has amazing scratch and abrasion resistance that further protects the underlying coating.

COLORS

• Chassis Black has a smooth, satiny semi-gloss black finish. It is the most "correct as original" finish for vintage trailer and car chassis components.
• Gloss Black has a beautiful glossy black finish and is sometimes used for restoring early trailers and cars.
