This age and weather resistant butyl rubber formula glazing tape in gray is available in two sizes:
- 3/16" x 3/8" (4.8 x 9.35 mm)
- 1/8" x 3/8" (3.2" x 9.5" mm)
Each roll is 25 feet in length.
We have been told that this tape is great for installing the glass in both the vista view windows and flat fixed windows on 1974 Airstream Overlander trailers. The gray color of this tape will work well for those who are trying to keep the vintage look of their windows (as gray glazing is often what was used).
This butyl glazing tape is an extruded, preformed tape furnished on release paper rolls. Based on a butyl rubber formulation with proven age and weather resistant properties, it is designed to create a long lasting, flexible weather seal between two surfaces that will be subjected to normal expansion/contraction and wind loading forces. It is used as an exterior primary spacing and glazing seal when glazing glass into a window sash; also used to seal other architectural surfaces such as metal to metal joints, wood to glass, metal to plastic, etc. The thickness is designed to be compressed approximately 10 percent at installation to accommodate surface alignments.
