When repairing early 1970s Airstream vista view windows, special POLYshim butyl glazing tapes are highly recommended. If your vista view windows are double paned with glass on the outer pane and plexiglass on the inner pane, and you have a metal snap retainer ring on the inner pane, you can properly repair your vista view windows using these products.

Tremco POLYshim® II tape has a continuous integral EPDM (rubber) shim in the center so that the minimum thickness of the otherwise soft butyl is maintained under compression. The butyl portion of the tape is highest grade 100% cross-linked solids, highly adhesive and elastic.

POLYshim II Tape has excellent resistance to heat, cold and sun and maintains excellent adhesion after exposure to weather.
